Garret adjusted his Sox hat and said, “Is it necessary to be in the future to describe things as dystopian?”
“I don’t think so,” Vic replied. “I think you could call “The Walking Dead” dystopian, and that takes place in the present.”
“Recent past, I think.”
“At either rate, man, I’d take a gasoline shortage, a rigid caste system, or a lack of color over ‘zombies everywhere and no infrastructure’ any day of the week.”
“But I couldn’t describe last Wednesday as dystopian, right?”
“Not unless you were in Wrigleyville.”
“Fair enough.”
