Kirk waited by the steps and watched the dancers through the window. Helen, another parent, stood across from him and sipped coffee from a paper cup.
“Big show in a week, huh?” He asked.
“Yep,” she replied. “Is this their dance? It looks super modern.”
“It’s supposed to be about the Chicago skyline.”
Helen laughed. “Elvis Costello once said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture, and that is literally what they are doing.”
“It’s the 21st century Helen. If you can dream it, you can find it on the internet.”
“I thought that was just about pornography.”
