The problem with taking over two years to write a novella is that I have no idea how to respond to that question.
Certainly, it is a nice problem to have. (So far, a disturbingly high percentage of readers finish the book in a day.) So I got my computer back last night from it’s month long sabbatical to the land of no video.
We are, as the fella says, reunited and it feels quite good. Sadly, this diminishes my excuses for not writing. A good thing by three more grams than a bad. I have the basic themes and characters figured out for TFW, and need to set aside some typing hours for that thing… BUT… It is becoming abundantly clear that people who read the Mosquito Song want more of it. The last three reviews I’ve read have said, basically, “I loved it, but it stopped just when it was getting really good.” This is both flattering and nerve-wracking. We will be having the official Mosquito Song release party Tuesday, November 1st at the Medici from 7pm-9pm.
I will (hopefully) have a limited number of books for sale then and there. I will do a reading (chapter to be determined) and there will be a few things to gromp on. Wait a tick… Chrome doesn’t recognize “gromp” as a word? Are my wife and I the only people who use gromp, gromps and the phrase to gromp on? Also, Tiny Toe Press founder, Herocious, will be on the radio in about 3 hours. Check it out at koop.org Not much new to report from my end. Spreading word-of-mouth about the book.
Here are a few random notes: -Tiny Toe Press has been fantastic this whole time; Herocious and I work well together. Better than I imagined. -The last pdf of the book is almost exactly 100 pages. - So Werewolf Thanksgiving is the joke title for my current project. I might actually use Thanksgiving for Werewolves as the final title. -I feel like I should also thank Alex Lucard who gave me more writing jobs than anybody, including my first one back at Inside Pulse Culture. There’s no link to that, because it didn’t last. I became a metal/goth site, then got absorbed, then, well, whatever… -I don’t have a Thanks page in the book. |
