Jason pushed the down button for the elevator and waited for the car to come up. The doors opened, and he saw two men standing there. Jason stepped aside to let them out, but they waved him off.
He walked inside and asked the men, “Just here for the ride, huh?”
“The ride of our lives!” said the taller man.
“Your name is Jason, right?” asked the shorter.
“Yes,” Jason responded tenuously.
The tall man pulled the stop button on the elevator, and the short one produced an IPad. “We’ve got something to show you!”
A middle-aged woman’s bare back appeared on the IPad screen. A voiceover said, “Over time, your skin loses essential moisture.” The screen showed a picture of a desert. “But now with Duggan’s Lotion, you can return essential clamminess to your skin.” The screen showed an image of a young woman’s back. “Make your skin wet like the youth!” Images of teenagers flashed along the screen. “Reclaim your moisture, reclaim your clamminess!” Pictures of abalone and cockles flashed on the screen to electric guitar riffs. “Clam up, with Duggan’s Lotion! Reclaim the clam!”
The IPad froze on an image of a mollusk with the words “Reclaim the Clam” written in Comics Sans super-imposed over it.
“So, what do you think?” asked the short man.
Jason replied, “I was here for an interview. I think you wanted to talk to Jason Duggan. My name’s Jason Riley.”
“That explains why you look so different,” said the tall man.
