Dave turned off the bathroom light and walked down the dark hallway, hoping to quickly fall back asleep. He was at the bedroom’s threshold when he noticed a faint glow coming from his living room. He glanced in that direction, and saw that his computer was on. He was sure that he had turned it off before bed.
As he moved towards it, his internet browser opened and various windows popped up.
Then Dave noticed the distortion. Everything on the screen was slightly the wrong color. It was as though he were looking through a red filter. Dave closed his eyes, and opened them again slowly.
He was looking through a translucent, ethereal t-shirt.
And near as he could tell, a ghost was wearing it.
“Excuse me?” Dave said.
“Oh hey. Dave, right?” The specter asked.
“Yeah,” Dave responded tentatively.
“Nice to meet you. Hope you don’t mind me using your computer.”
Dave looked at the screen and saw webpages full of pornographic content. “Um, if you could use an incognito browser, that would help.”
“Sure. You might have to show me how.”
Dave did that thing.
“Thanks,” the ghost responded.
“Do you do this every night?” Dave asked.
“Pretty much,” the ghost responded. “Ever since I died in 2003. You know, you’re a deep sleeper.”
“Um… cool.” Dave wasn’t sure he could go back to bed now, so he watched the ghost watch pornography for a few minutes. “So, um, how’d you die?”
“Heart attack while masturbating.”
“Makes sense.”
